Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) no longer supports running PowerPC-based applications. These applications were typically writtten 2006 and earlier and were designed to run on Macintosh computers with PowerPC-based processors. In many cases, developers have released versions will run on newer Macintoshes, or newer Macintosh operating systems.
